🍴 Ethel Sizzle's - Kalihi Gateway

04 · RON SWEX — ORIGIN: UNCLE BOULDER & ETHEL SIZZLE'S Ethel Sizzle's — Kalihi. Gateway 08. Run day-to-day by Boulder, Ron's uncle: old, dignified, been there forever, the cook always one variation away from getting a recipe exactly right and never quite landing it before the next idea pulls him away. Crack seed and crack-seed-themed pies sold at the register near the takeout line. Ron grew up eating there with his family, half-raised by that room the way every regular eventually is. One night — no occasion, nothing dramatic — an off-menu, half-failed batch came out wrong for the register and exactly right for the kid at the counter. Boulder handed it over without ceremony and forgot about it by morning. Ron never forgot the taste. ❖ This is the literal point of origin for the Kahohu Plum mythology and the model for Ron's adult hyper-fixate-then-abandon pattern — both learned at this counter, both before either Ron or Boulder had words for what either one meant. ❖ ...

🌟 Kathen Furmeister Notes

02 · KATHEN FURMEISTER — WOUND 02 High school. Wound 02 — Grief turned into armor. Left after graduation to become something. His path was visible to him before anyone else could see it. A Meister — a person defined by a specific competence or calling that eventually pulled him away from everything, including Ron. He has been competent at everything since. Exposed about nothing. The armor isn't coldness. It's proof that meaning something once was enough to make sure he'd never have to risk it again. ❖ Wound 02's Group Lead seat remains separately open (the character who 'lost a woman because he was too needy'). Kathen carries the same wound category with a different personal expression. The Vow Before he left, he gave away his Kahohu Plum — the one given only once, ever. The vow underneath it: you will never break apart from each other's cracks again. He broke it anyway — not out of betrayal. The calling that made him a Meister pulled him out the door befor...

🌠 The Kahohu Plum

The Kahohu Plum, Kathen Furmeister, and the Origin of Ron Swex 01 · THE KAHOHU PLUM & LI HING KAHO A native Hawaiian plum, named for Kahoku — starry night in Hawaiian, North Star in Japanese — with the H softened for warmth. Its roots connect to an endemic Maori plant, making it Pacific-wide rather than purely Hawaiian. Fresh, it looks polished, plump, almost too perfect. Dried, the skin pulls tight and cracks. It looks damaged. Unattractive. Something you'd pass over. The transformation is the meaning — it is only shared after it has cracked. The Legend "If two people share one, the cracks in each become the place the other fits. They will never break apart from each other again." The Four Laws The Law of the Vow — the whole Kahohu Plum is given once, to one person, ever. Not a gift. An act with no second version. The Law of the Renewable Bond — Li Hing Kaho, the small snack-form pieces dusted in li hing powder, are shared again and again. Friendship is meant to need...

📰 Teaser Notes

TEASER DESCRIPTION A native ʻIʻiwi (Scarlet Honeycreeper) rare, seemingly lost, alone against high mountain ridgeline, vog drifting low beneath it. Secluded away the breezes pass through high mountains. The creation of a house that brought in the world, pushed out identity through our breath. Cut to the HR Railways in motion — an aerial line cutting across the island. Then a hard cut into the system's own interface: the route map glowing, a station name highlighting. Then back out to a real station platform, quiet. As the air exhales through its people, society goes silent. Camera drops from the top of the city downward — Upper-Living glow giving way to commercial High-Living, then the dimmer, denser Lower-Living streets at night. Ends on the ocean, visibly duller, polluted, lapping against a sea wall. In the lungs of those gasping for oxygen in the stifling vog, the stories that traversed would be perpetual in its wake. The restaurant's warm windows glowing against the dusk. ...

🌟 Ron Swex Developer Notes

RON SWEX CHARACTER DOCUMENT The Man at the Center — His Psychology, His Journey, His Arc 01 · WHO RON SWEX IS Ron Swex is hyper-fixated, borderline savant, with idiot moments of accidental genius. He rides a bike and cannot seem to keep a job due to his hyper-fixation. He takes low-level invisible jobs — server-room assistant, data courier, maintenance worker — and moves through the city without leaving a digital footprint that makes sense to any system designed to track people who matter. His public face is a VTuber — a digital avatar persona through which he streams, performs, and connects with a small and dedicated audience. Behind the avatar is a man who is simultaneously more capable and more lost than anyone watching the stream would guess. He is the founder of Hokuhana. He built it because he couldn't find belonging anywhere. He poured his entire vision, his belonging, his purpose into Hokuhana and into Reisa Kamalani specifically. He didn't mean for it to cost the peopl...

💠 Manakeeper Class

THE MANAKEEPER DOCUMENT The Living System — Where Mana Comes From 01 · THE TRUTH ABOUT MANA Everything the corporations believe about mana is wrong. Mana was never an embedded geological resource. It was never geothermal. It was never something sitting in the ground waiting to be extracted. Mana is a living relationship. Between people. Between cultures. Between the specific legacies of the people whose families maintained specific land across generations. And between all of those people and the land itself that witnessed and absorbed their presence over centuries. ❖ The corporations built the Thermo-Grid over Legacy Trails because the heat was highest there. They were right that something powerful was concentrating in those locations. They were wrong about what it was. 02 · THE ORIGINAL MANA NETWORK The Royal Hawaiian Foundation The Royal Hawaiians did not simply rule the land. They maintained it. As different cultural communities arrived in Hawaii — the plantation era brought Ja...
